Avasant organizes an International Innovation Acceleration Dialogue in collaboration with the World Bank and National IT Authority in Kampala

Kampala, Uganda –  July 21, 2016: Avasant, a global management consulting and ICT advisory firm, is organizing an international workshop in collaboration with the World Bank and National IT Authority to promote and drive the innovation agenda in the country.  Titled “Innovation Acceleration Dialogue” (IAD), the workshop is of national importance to Uganda and is being driven by Ministry of ICT with active participation from Ministry of Agriculture, Health, Education and Justice & Law.

IAD is designed to serve as a consultative platform to decide on the most relevant institutional model and the role that a Government Innovation Center of Excellence should play. The workshop will also showcase international best practices from Kenya, United States and South Korea.  The key objectives of the workshop are:

• Learning from successful International Government Innovation Centers
• Highlighting Successful Innovation Lab, Incubator and Accelerator Success Stories
• Collaborating and innovating to provide solutions to Government for effectively leveraging digital technologies
• Discussion on the most suitable institutional and operational model for the proposed Ugandan Government Innovation Center of Excellence (COE)

The workshop will include noted innovation experts from the US, South Korea and Kenya along with key representatives from the World Bank, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), UNICEF, USAID, local innovation hubs, NGOs, educational & training Institutes and entrepreneurs.
