Avasant’s smart governance work in Uganda has encouraged local entrepreneurs to develop smart digital solutions for the government which can be scaled in Kampala and other jurisdictions. To accomplish the goal, the following research objectives were proposed:
• Develop a Mechanism for linking Innovation Hubs to Markets (Government and the Private Sector)
• Develop a mechanism through which Innovation Hubs can access International Innovation Labs, material, and other online resources
• Develop an IT Innovation Business plan to ensure systematic and focused IT Innovation that is focused on market needs
• Develop and IT Innovation Governance and Accountability Mechanism
• Develop a mechanism collaboration between Government, Industry, Academia/Innovation Institutions
• Develop a mechanism through which IT Innovation funding and information can be accessed centrally for effectiveness of utilization
• Develop a mechanism through which Innovators can access computing resources, affordable Internet Bandwidth, etc.
• Develop a mechanism of collaborative IT Innovation with a view combining ideas to develop better quality solutions
• Develop deliberate markets for domestic IT Innovation Solutions
• Develop a mechanism of sustainability for IT Innovations
