Salesforce Snaps Up Tableau, Seeks to Make Up Ground in Data Analytics
Technology giants have gone on a data-analytics spending spree of late, but the biggest so far has been Salesforce’s deal to purchase data-analytics pioneer Tableau Software for more than $15 billion. But how will Tableau fit in with Salesforce’s existing analytics efforts? Salesforce launched its data analytics platform, Einstein, in 2016 and also partnered with IBM’s Watson shortly after.
