- Fujitsu continued to leverage Cloud, IoT, AI and ML capabilities to augment its cybersecurity practice, and aims to broaden its business through partnerships. Its global Security Operations Centers (SOC) provides Managed Security Services (MSS), based on its proprietary SAMURAI™ Platform.
- In the last couple of years, it has been expanding it security practice for Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) region. In 2017, it launched Identity-as-a-Service, an IAM solution. This was followed by the launch of Threat 360 in 2018, which is a new cyber threat intelligence (CTI) assessment service and also includes malware assessment based on Cylance technology.
- In 2017, launched a cloud-based Biometrics-as-a-Service (BIOaaS™) offering to secure financial, commercial and customer environments and is integrated with its Intelligent Security Operations Center (iSOC) in Dallas.
- It aims to expand its security business via partnerships and increase sales of cyberdefense products and services to YEN 300B (USD 2.71B) by March 2020.
- It partners with the following companies for varied capabilities: Cylance (Compromise Assessment Services), Check Point (Cloud, Datacenter, IoT, EndPoint etc.), LogRhythm (SIEM, SOAR etc.),and McAfee (Endpoint, DLP, SIEM etc.).
- It has also partnered with two US cybersecurity Israeli start-ups: Cybereason and IntSights Cyber Intelligence. With Cybereason, Fujitsu will use its AI technology to analyze the performance of computers that are hit by hackers, and prevent future attacks. IntSights Cyber Intelligence specializes in collecting data on cyber attacks, which Fujitsu plans to leverage in the analysis of unique cyberthreats prevalent in the market.
Investments and Innovation
- Fujitsu’s long-term investment has been in biometrics. For over two decades, it has developed and deployed a number of biometric products and systems. These solutions are part of its Identity & Access Management offerings (Trusted IDaaS), which includes Biometrics-as-a-Service and Security IoT Platform.
- Part of its 2018 digital strategy is to strengthen its security business by increasing the number of Security Meister system engineers to 11,000. It has also invested in University Technical Colleges (UTC) to train 500 students a year in cybersecurity skills.
