AVASANT ANALYST INSIGHTS

Practice Maturity

  • Mphasis set up its SD-WAN practice in 2017 and intends to triple its growth in the next 12 months. It has significant traction in retail and banking verticals, where it managed full-length production stage SD-WAN projects and ran a few PoCs
  • While it has been traditionally strong in SDN services, where it has served 60+ clients and completed 150+ migrations, it has experienced limited SD-WAN success. It has cross-trained 50+ existing network experts with SD-WAN-related technologies
  • It has taken a two-pronged approach towards its SD-WAN solution capabilities: develop in-house tools (NetiFig and NetAudit) and leverage third-party network monitoring and analytical tools. Additionally, it is introducing security and inter-cloud connectivity capabilities into its existing SD-WAN solution
  • It is incrementally including automation in its current SD-WAN engagements. In fact, it has been able to resolve 70% of the tickets through automation

Partnership Ecosystem

  • Mphasis has strategic partnerships with leading SD-WAN platform providers such as Silver Peak, Cisco, Juniper, and Riverbed. It also leverages security software from Cisco, Check Point and Palo Alto Networks

Investments and Innovation

  • To strengthen its SD-WAN practice, Mphasis intends to double its existing SD-WAN workforce (from 50 to 100). It is organizing SD-WAN bootcamps and sponsoring certifications in Cisco network programmability design, Cisco/Viptela SD-WAN implementation, and others
  • It has established test labs, where it will co-develop SDN/NFV use cases with clients, help them to validate SD-WAN use cases, and perform PoCs
