The Avasant Foundation’s Digital Skills and Employment Opportunities program in The Bahamas, funded by IADB LAB, supports unemployed and underemployed individuals affected by Hurricane Dorian and COVID-19. The Avasant Digital Skills Training (ADST) offers a comprehensive curriculum with soft and technical skills, including communication, sales, customer service, Microsoft Office 365, UX design, web development, data analytics, and project management. Delivered online with synchronous teaching methods and ed-tech tools, the program has graduated more than 320 candidates with a 95% employment rate. Additionally, the Avasant Digital Entrepreneurship (ADE) program equips aspiring entrepreneurs with vital tools for business success. The foundation aims to award 500 fully funded scholarships to empower individuals with valuable digital skills and employment prospects.

Scholarship Highlights

  1. The training is for candidates between the ages of 18-40 years old
  2. Must have high school certificate of completion.
  3. Led by experienced instructors from the esteemed University of The Bahamas.
  4. Gain certifications in highly sought-after skills such as MO365 suite, Project Management, Data Analytics, UX Design, and various other relevant areas

Register for Guyana Digital Entrepreneurship Training

Guyana - Avasant Digital Skills Training Program

The Avasant Foundation (AF) introduced the Avasant Digital Skills Training (ADST) program in Guyana to tackle the digital skills gap and aid young individuals in transitioning from education to job opportunities. In partnership with Inter-American Development bank Lab, the program focuses on youth from socio-economically challenged areas and offers a fully funded scholarship. The curriculum covers essential soft skills like communication, sales, customer service, and leadership, as well as technical skills in high demand such as Microsoft Office 365, UX design, web and mobile development, data analytics, and project management. The program also includes digital entrepreneurship training to promote self-employment and support small business owners. Since its launch in August 2020, the program has surpassed its target, with over 330 graduates and a remarkable 90% employment rate. In response to the growing need for IT talent, the foundation also introducedIn  training program on artificial intelligence and machine learning, with 35 graduates already employed in various sectors, applying their cutting-edge skills to their jobs.

To contribute to America’s digital adoption and address inequalities, the Avasant Foundation and Avasant offers scholarships for enrollment in the Avasant Digital Skills Training program. This training provides relevant job-related soft and technical skills and is designed for individuals who are interested in jobs in the corporate sector. The training program is 100% virtual, fully funded through the scholarship, with no cost to you.

Requirements for Avasant Digital Skills training:

  1. Candidates ages between 20-35 years old.
  2. Must have high school certificate of completion, college graduate or some college.
  3. Gain certifications in highly sought-after skills for today’s job market
  4. Led by experienced university lecturers who are subject matter experts
  5. On graduation you will receive a certificate of completion.

Requirements for Avasant Digital Entrepreneurship training:

  1. Candidates ages between 20-40 years old
  2. Must own a micro, small or medium business or have a business plan
  3. Gain certifications in digital skills to enhance and expand your business
  4. Led by experienced university lecturers who are subject matter experts
  5. On graduation you will receive a certificate of completion.
