Advanced Network Services: Enabling Visibility and Control with Secure Multicloud Networking

July, 2024

Enterprises are adopting advanced networks, including SD-WAN, SASE, private 5G/LTE, and multicloud networking, to support the growing demands for multicloud environments, improved user experiences, operational efficiency and visibility, and digital transformation initiatives across industries. Additionally, service providers are helping enterprises manage and implement advanced network solutions at reduced upfront investments by offering an as-a-service model. They are also codeveloping solutions with technology vendors for efficient management and deployment of advanced networks.

Both demand-side and supply-side trends are covered in our Advanced Network Services 2024 Market Insights™ and Advanced Network Services 2024 RadarView™, respectively. These reports present a comprehensive study of advanced network service providers and closely examine market leaders, innovators, disruptors, and challengers.

The reports provide a number of findings, including the following:

    • The manufacturing, telecom, media and entertainment, retail, and CPG industries collectively account for around 40% of demand for advanced network services. Advanced networks enable smart manufacturing and a connected workforce in manufacturing, immersive broadcasting and personalized advertisements in media and entertainment, and automated checkout systems and seamless in-store experiences in retail.
    • Enterprises across the manufacturing, travel and transportation, and utilities and resources industries are adopting private 5G/LTE networks to enable operations transformation through industry 4.0 initiatives. These networks are also gaining traction across the healthcare and education industries to facilitate use cases, such as assisted surgery and asset tracking in healthcare and campus-wide reliable network connectivity and research and innovation initiatives in education.
    • Service providers are developing joint solutions to help enterprises efficiently deploy and manage advanced network solutions by optimizing network operations and enhancing security and connectivity.
    • Nearly 70% of investments of service providers delivering advanced network services are dedicated to asset and talent development.

“Enterprises are integrating network and security technologies by utilizing SASE to quickly identify and respond to cybersecurity threats,” said Ashutosh Darmal, senior analyst at Avasant. “SASE enables easier operational management of network services via a unified framework and lowers operational costs.”
