Worldwide IT Spending Will Reach $1.2 Trillion in 2002

(CARLSBAD, CA) Worldwide IT spending will reach $1.2 trillion in 2002. The United States will account for $572.8 billion of the worldwide total. European countries will spend $325.6 billion, Asia/Pacific will spend $267.8 billion, and Latin American countries will spend $46.7 billion.

The following figure shows projected worldwide information technology spending for 2002.  IT spending is comprised of the following:

  • Consumable supplies used by IT staff and departments
  • Facilities used by and overhead associated with IT operations and staff
  • IT staff
  • Outside services
  • Software and hardware.
