Future-Proofing Enterprises in an Era of AI and Global Disruption

August, 2026

Enterprises are entering a new phase of digital transformation, in which AI, economic uncertainty, and shifting global dynamics are reshaping business priorities. To remain future-ready, organizations are investing in AI-ready infrastructure, modernizing data foundations, strengthening governance, and redesigning operating models around AI-native capabilities and strategic GCCs.

In response, Digital Masters are reshaping their strategies around dual vectors of capability transformation and growth transformation. They are transforming their capabilities by investing across the AI stack, reinventing the services model through proprietary platforms, AI-enabled delivery, and outcome-based models. At the same time, they are pursuing growth by deepening their presence in high-growth markets, launching new business units focused on AI, mid-market, GCCs, and private equity, and driving investments and offerings in emerging technologies such as physical AI and quantum.

Avasant’s Digital Masters Technology Transformation 2026 Market Insights™ provides a peek into the forces shaping future-ready enterprises, while the Digital Masters Technology Transformation 2026 RadarView™ evaluates the service providers helping organizations build resilient, AI-enabled operating models.

This report is the culmination of a rigorous, year-long research initiative wherein we assessed over 76 global technology service providers across two dimensions:

    1. Digital practice maturity: An assessment of service provider capabilities in eight technology prerequisites—advanced networks, applied AI, intelligent ITOps, cybersecurity, data management and advanced analytics, hybrid enterprise cloud, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), and IoT. The assessment also evaluates the maturity of providers’ digital practices based on their end-to-end service capabilities, transformation execution, innovation and value creation, flexible commercial models, and financial strength.
    2. Future-proofing: An assessment of a service provider’s ability to help enterprises build resilient, adaptive, and innovation-led organizations through strategic partnerships, co-innovation, investments in proprietary IP and emerging technologies, talent development, and business model innovation.

Through a detailed assessment, we recognized 18 providers whose breadth and depth of capabilities allow them to fully support their clients’ digital transformation efforts.

The RadarView recognizes service providers in four categories:

    • Leaders: Accenture, Cognizant, HCLTech, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro
    • Innovators: Capgemini, IBM, LTM, and Tech Mahindra
    • Disruptors: Atos, Kyndryl, NTT DATA, and UST
    • Challengers: Birlasoft, DXC Technology, Microland, and Mphasis

The following figure from the full report illustrates these categories:

“Market uncertainty and the disruptive force of AI are reshaping enterprise priorities,” said Anupam Govil, managing partner at Avasant. “As organizations operationalize agentic AI and leverage GCCs as innovation engines, leading providers need to invest in AI-centric service architecture and industrialized platforms that deliver enhanced productivity and generate shared business value.”

The full report provides several findings and recommendations, including the following:

    • Enterprise investment in AI-native operating models is accelerating, with large Gen AI and agentic AI deals increasing 61% in 2025, driven by AI-ready infrastructure, data foundations, AI governance, and sovereign AI.
    • AI security risks are evolving from traditional cyber threats to autonomous AI failures, with AI-related security incidents increasing 38% YOY, as enterprises grapple with risks such as hallucinations, prompt injection, identity abuse, and autonomous decision-making.
    • Enterprises are reinventing the digital core to build resilient, AI-ready, and sovereign technology foundations, with over half expected to embed digital sovereignty into core technology strategies by 2029.
    • With 68% of GCCs reporting new process migrations, GCCs are emerging as a key component of the future operating model, expanding beyond transactional delivery to drive innovation and capability development.
