July 5, 2010, Shanghai, China. Kevin S. Parikh, the Global CEO of Avasant, presented to over 500 attendeesduring theChina-Europe CIO Summit & International IT Service Cooperation Forum. The Summit was held over the week of June 24th to June 30th in three of China’s largest cities: Wuhan, Beijing and Shanghai. The week-long event was hosted by the Investment Promotion Agency of Commerce, P.R.C. In all, 20 global companies were selected as “Delegates,” including senior executives from Daimler, Air France/KLM, Lufthansa, and Avasant. The focus of the Summit was to discuss the current development of China’s ITES/BPO industry and how China is rising to become a better destination for global outsourcing services. Mr. Parikh’s speech addressed the competition China is facing from other global outsourcing destinations and shared his vision for China to succeed in the long-term. In his speech, he commented. “Despite increasing global competition, China’s has a strong internal demand for outsourcing services and specializes in the support of organizations requiring Asian language support.” He added, “China’s strong infrastructure and government support has already spawned dozens of new IT service providers offering global services from China.” His Speech received local and global coverage, as national and international decision makers, government officials, IT leaders, investment bankers, and other important delegates were in attendance.
