Avasant’s Empowering Beyond Symposium London, hosted in conjunction with Wipro and UiPath, was successfully concluded on 31st May 2018 at Chelsea Football Club, Stamford Bridge, London. Empowering Beyond Symposium London featured executive speakers including Adam Vile, CTO of VAKT; Jon Winder, CIO at Plan International; Kevin S. Parikh, CEO at Avasant; Samuel Price, IT Director at McLaren; Yannis Perrakis, Principal Digital Innovation at BP and many more. Over 100 senior executives from forward-thinking organizations were in attendance at this invitation-only event.

The theme for this year’s event was “Driving Digital Transformation through Automation, AI, and Blockchain”, and expert speakers delivered presentations discussing the role of automation, artificial intelligence, Blockchain, and other disruptive technologies in today’s evolving digital economy.

The symposium opened with an inspired presentation by Avasant Global CEO, Kevin S. Parikh, on “Innovation Reborn: The Power of Digital”. Sharing his insights about the opportunities and challenges technology’s omnipresence will pose, how to approach innovation, and how businesses might remain competitive in a digital world, Kevin set the tone for a day filled with thought-provoking insights framed with an optimism about the implications of the rapid progression of technology for improved human experiences.

“The Digital Age promises a future when automation frees humanity to reach its greatest potential,” noted Kevin.

Jon Winder, CIO, Plan International, spoke on the “Bridging the Digital Gender Divide” and the digital challenges, strengths and opportunities facing Plan International today as they work to accomplish their 100 Million Reasons mission.

A panel of experts led by Anupam Govil, Partner at Avasant discussed the topic, “Building the Automation and AI-enabled Enterprise”, offering stimulating dialogue onthe way forward for businesses competing in the digital economy. Other panelists included Anand Nagwani, VP, UiPath; Samuel Price, IT Director, McLaren, and Rohit Adlakha, VP, Wipro.

Keynote speaker Adam Vile, CTO of VAKT, shared his experience with Blockchain, illustrating the successes of the platform in driving real-world outcomes.

A second panel focused on “Driving Digital Transformation through Blockchain” moderated by Muneeb Shah, EMEA Blockchain Partner, Wipro, brought forward practical solutions to be leveraged for today’s market. Panelists included Brian Whelan, CEO, Travacoin; Gary Barnett, Chief Analyst, GlobalData; Yannis Perrakis, Technology Principal, BP, and Dr. Grigory Shevchenko, Account Lead, Uniper.

The symposium was brought to a close with networking opportunities over cocktails and a tour of the Chelsea stadium.
