Saugata Sengupta is a seasoned strategy consultant with around 14 years of expertise in IT sourcing and transformation engagements, market analysis, benchmarking, and assessments. Having worked with leading advisory firms such as ISG and Tholons, he has participated in numerous sourcing and research-based projects across various industries. Saugata’s work spans strategic sourcing initiatives and transformations across North America, Southeast Asia, Latin America, Western Europe, and the Middle East & Africa.​

Saugata has a rich background in strategizing and delivering long-term managed services contracts and developing captive centers. He has worked with Fortune 2000 clients across various IT service areas and BPM, including F&A, HR, and SCM. He has advised on app and infrastructure modernization initiatives, combining system implementation with managed services RFP execution. Saugata has also engaged with major service providers to optimize service delivery, cost, and delivery models, and has consulted on market entry, new center setups, and workspace optimization. Prior to joining Avasant, he was instrumental in creating DynamicRFI, a cloud-based data exchange program, during his time at ISG, and initiated new service lines including ISG City Risk Assessment and Location Assessment. He led the Tholons Top100 Outsourcing Cities research from 2008 to 2010, significantly improving the methodology for ranking outsourcing cities globally. Additionally, Saugata has engaged in extensive financial benchmarking exercises with captives in India.
