International trade in services is growing exponentially worldwide. Some countries in LAC are becoming very proactive in providing both the basic and the more value-added services. Technology is the main driver of this trend. This session will explain many of these changes and explore the power of IT in promoting this trend even further in the upcoming years. Robotization, for example, brings about huge opportunities to provide a lot of outsourced services, but comes at a cost by way of the displaced labor force.
