Practice Maturity
- Happiest Minds had an early focus on IoT and set up a dedicated practice for developing capabilities in this space as early as 2013. Its practice has matured since and grew between 40 to 50% over the last 12 months. It has ambitious plans for the practice by 2020.
- It is focusing significantly on developing solutions on best-of-breed platforms such as PTC ThingWorx, MS Azure, AWS IoT and Siemens Mindsphere.
- It has expanded offerings beyond implementation and assessment to also offer connected devices, intelligent platforms, analytics, automation, app development and secure managed services. It has also built a migration tool to service IoT platform migration requests.
- Its independently-run business unit for IoT, IoT CoE, has a sharp focus on smart industries (manufacturing, industrial, utilities and transportation), smart enterprises (smart homes/buildings, retail and telecom) and smart living (wearable, healthcare and security).
Investments and Innovation
- Happiest Minds has robust partnerships with all major IoT platform providers as well as over 50 device and semiconductor providers. It has developed joint go-to-market programs with all partners, and gets preferred status for gateways and controllers.
- With its strategic focus on IoT, it has also been open to inorganic capability development. In May 2017, it acquired Cupola Technology, a specialized IoT company to bring in complementary frameworks and ready-to-use solutions along with a strong base of customers.
Industry Development
- Happiest Minds has increasingly been focusing on participating in various IoT conferences, summits and events. Its leadership team is actively providing their views around IoT adoption in various industries through blogs and white papers.
- It is also a member of a number of industry associations, including Consumer Technology Association, NASSCOM and the Industrial Internet Consortium, and is fairly active in initiatives for setting the direction of Industrial Internet of Things.
