This is the second edition of the Service Provider ESG Maturity Index, featuring 42 providers. The service providers have been assessed based on their sustainability disclosures, strategy, and transparency and have been classified and benchmarked based on more than 50 metrics spread across five topics: environmental, social, governance, ESG disclosure compliance and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) coverage, and complexity. The report aims to help enterprise customers choose the right service provider when making procurement decisions for building circular product life cycles and developing road maps and solutions to achieve their sustainability goals.
The report provides a comprehensive examination of service providers’ intrinsic sustainability objectives, advancements, ongoing initiatives, and investments aimed at enhancing sustainability. Additionally, it delves into emerging trends and mandates within the realm of sustainability reporting, offering a holistic understanding of the evolving landscape and how service providers are navigating through the complexities.
The report classifies service providers into four categories:

- Leader: Leaders consistently demonstrate excellence across all crucial dimensions of the ESG assessment, establishing themselves as a frontrunner in disclosing ESG objectives and initiatives.
- Pioneer: Pioneers have set themselves apart as early adopters in the ESG landscape, formulating strategies to align consistently across various dimensions like the leaders.
- Emerging: Emerging providers are formulating strategies to prepare and present their ESG disclosures, leveraging guidelines and formats from widely accepted reporting frameworks.
- Top of Form
- Aspirant: Aspirant providers are actively forging their path in the ESG journey. Although lacking a fully defined strategy compared to others, they express eagerness to future-proof their business practices by aligning ESG disclosures with global reporting standards.
