Retail and wholesale distribution companies are changing how they staff software functions according to the 13th annual Information Systems and E-Business Spending study conducted by Computer Economics.
In 2002 software staff in retail distribution companies comprised 42.8% of the total central IS staff compared to 48.3% during three prior three-year period. E-commerce staff in retail distribution companies increased to 6.2% of the total central IS staff compared to 4.5% during three prior three-year period.
In 2002 software staff in wholesale distribution companies increased to 45.2% of the total central IS staff compared to 42.4% during three prior three-year period. E-commerce staff in retail distribution companies grew to 8.4% of the total central IS staff compared to 4.8% during three prior three-year period.
