VoIP Adoption to Surpass 50% Mark This Year

January, 2008

(IRVINE, Calif.) About 43% of all organizations have already adopted some form of Voice over IP (VoIP) technology, and adoption rates should surpass the 50% mark for the first time in 2008, according to a Computer Economics survey.

While Computer Economics expects VoIP adoption to continue on a steady, upward path, the research firm also found that the return on investment (ROI) experienced by many companies was mixed. While 56% of organizations reported positive ROI, another 13% reported negative ROI on their VoIP implementations.

The full report, VoIP Adoption Ramps, But ROI Sometimes Illusive, looks at the economic experiences of  large, medium, and small organizations that have adopted the technology, based on a survey of 200 IT managers.
