    E-Business Practices TriMark provides the percentage of respondents in our study that have or utilize various e-business capabilities. Results are shown for each sector or size of organization. The e-business capabilities include having a website, engaging in Web-based business-to-business or business-to-consumer transactions, achieving profits on those e-commerce efforts, and outsourcing website functions. Other capabilities include EDI via the Internet, EDI via direct dial connections with suppliers, and EDI via direct dial connections with consumers. The following tables show data by industry sector and organization revenue. The TriMark results are presented for the period of 1998 to 2000.

    PentaSafe Security Technologies has published its 2002 Security Awareness Index (SAI) Report based on results from a free online survey, designed to measure organizations’ information security awareness. Analyzing responses from 583 companies and 1,350 individual employees worldwide, the 2002 SAI Report indicates that 23% of security officers consider their organization’s security awareness as dangerously inadequate, while an additional 44% consider their security awareness inadequate. Nearly 6 out of 10 employees who have taken the survey score, on average, only a D or unsatisfactory grade when it comes to appropriate security awareness and behavior.

    In February 2000, Globalstar USA launched its mobile satellite service in the United States, providing seamless voice service coast to coast with international roaming capabilities. A rollout of commercial Globalstar services began at the end of 1999, and it is anticipated that completion of the basic network rollout will be achieved by the first quarter of 2001, at which point Globalstar service will be available in over 120 countries served by 38 gateways.
